Code of Conduct

Logan Vikings Swimming Club

The Logan Vikings Swimming Club Code of Conduct outlines expected behaviour for all members, including swimmers, parents, coaches, volunteers, and spectators.

Our club promotes respect, teamwork, fairness, and sportsmanship.

1. Swimmer Code of Conduct

All swimmers must:

  • Treat teammates, coaches, officials, and competitors with respect

  • Follow coach instructions during training

  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times

  • Respect club facilities and equipment

  • Encourage teammates and support a positive team environment

  • Avoid bullying, harassment, or inappropriate language

Swimmers are expected to represent the club with pride at all events.

2. Parent and Guardian Code of Conduct

Parents and guardians play an important role in supporting young athletes.

Parents must:

  • Encourage swimmers to enjoy the sport

  • Support coaches and club officials

  • Avoid coaching from the sidelines

  • Treat all swimmers and officials respectfully

  • Promote positive behaviour and good sportsmanship

Parents should raise concerns respectfully through the appropriate club channels.

3. Coach and Volunteer Conduct

Coaches and volunteers must:

  • Provide a safe and supportive training environment

  • Treat all swimmers fairly and respectfully

  • Promote skill development and enjoyment of the sport

  • Follow child safety and safeguarding requirements

  • Act as positive role models for swimmers

4. Spectator Behaviour

Spectators must:

  • Support all swimmers respectfully

  • Avoid negative comments towards officials or competitors

  • Follow event and facility rules

5. Breaches of the Code

Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • A verbal warning

  • Temporary suspension from activities

  • Removal from club programs

  • Termination of membership in serious cases

The club committee will review breaches and determine appropriate action.
